Data Sources & Attribution

Florida golf course directory (/fl-courses/)

Course names, coordinates, addresses, phone numbers, websites, and hole counts for the statewide Florida directory come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. See openstreetmap.org/copyright for full license terms.

Data was pulled via the Overpass API and reverse-geocoded to a Florida county using the FCC's free Census Area API. It was not edited or supplemented beyond adding a hole count where OpenStreetMap tagged one. Course par, yardage, and course rating/slope are deliberately not shown on these pages — OpenStreetMap does not reliably carry those figures, and we do not estimate or infer them.

Every /fl-courses/ page links to its specific OpenStreetMap source record. The build script that produces this dataset is committed at scripts/fetch-fl-golf-courses.mjs and can be re-run to refresh it.

Aerial imagery

Satellite/aerial images on course pages are Esri World Imagery, retrieved live via Esri's public World Imagery map service, centered on each course's mapped coordinates. No stock photography is used anywhere on course pages.

The ten hand-researched courses in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties are independently sourced per-page — see each course's own "Sources" list for the specific official sites, news coverage, and golf-industry references used.
